Franken was a scientist and was the creator of killer robot S4N-T, who killed Adam and Reginald.
After he found the telepathic circuit in a shipwreck, S4N-T was formed out of it. He used the robot to kill Adam, someone who had previously ripped off his research. S4N-T had a mind of it's own however, and when Franken order it not to kill Stevenson, it did anyway.
Reginald, Adam's associate was later killed too. Out of rage, the Beginner disarmed Franken and shot him, causing the robot to grow large. (Red Christmas)
